Lewis dot structure in the case of ammonia is shown by the valence electrons surrounding the N atom. The dot point structure in the case of ammonia exhibits that the nitrogen atom connects 1 pair of electrons with each of the three hydrogen atoms, resulting in a complete of 3 joined pairs of electrons. The ammonia molecule adopts a trigonal pyramidal structure because of the distribution of the valence electrons according to its Lewis dot structure. In the Lewis dotpoint representation of NH3, the N atom is encircled by three spots, each representing a pair of joined electrons with a hydrogen atom.
